Logan Lions granted ORL License
The City of Logan, situated halfway between the two major cities of the Gold Coast and Brisbane, has something else to look forward to come 2024 after being granted a license to be one of just twelve inaugural teams participating in the Online Rugby League Premiership.
Playing under the moniker of the Logan Lions the fledging team, whose line up is still undecided, will take to the field throughout the inaugural 2024 Online Rugby League Premiership where they will battle it out against eleven other teams as they chase their place in the history books as the first premiers of the new competition.
Sam Tuamave, leader of the bid consortium, was ecstatic at hearing the news from the ORL board.
”Once we heard about the new competition, saw the promise it had, we knew we had to get a license at any cost,” Tuamave who has a long history of community service in the area, including playing Rugby League at all levels within the region, said.
”I am sure as it comes closer to kick off there will be eleven other coaches, eleven other team rosters all with the same goal as us. Win the Premiership!“
”Being able to now turn our attention towards acquiring a coach capable of delivering the premiership we seek, and casting an eye over the player pool begins. It is exciting times ahead.”
With the 2024 Online Rugby League season pencilled in to kick off in February all eyes now turn towards which other teams will be joining the Logan Lions.
